This year I've discovered three really cool (British) musicians:
Kate Nash,
Bat for Lashes &
Marina and the Diamonds. A bit late I know, but better late than never :-)
And one amazingly French chanteuse called Zaz. Can't wait to see them live: Spirited, strong & bright!

... well, actually it was a half-day camp, which was actually less intimidating to begin with for a newbie like me. So here are my first impressions of today's hdcvie:

The half-day camp Vienna took place in the former imperial palace in the very heart of the city and was dedicated to "social media & values". I was rather intrigued to see how well this more or less spontaneously planned and organised un-conference worked out. No tiring non-stop powerpoint presentations, facilitators and presenters sticking to their actual time slots, engaged audience, lively discussions ... everything you'd long for in a "normal" conference. So, I'd be definitely in for yet another barcamp!

Really a nice online language learing platform I discovered a while ago and which I've been trying out for the last couple of weeks to get started with my Spanish. It's really good to get you started and you can even try your new language skills with natives speakers all around the world. Check it out!

Back in October, on my last visit to Edinburgh I had the first glimps at one. Then both my bookdealer in Vienna and a usability expert in Frankfurt gave me one. And now, with Christmas drawing closer, I'm tempted to get me a personalised one.

What I'm talking about? Well, about the smart little business cards by moo. You prefer swapping your personal details via icq, twitter, etc. and still think that exchanging business cards is just so out of date? Well, I guess in that case you haven't yet come across the cute and colourful 2-sided cards made by the London-based printer. You can completely personalise them: your very own pictures - not only one but lots of different ones - on one side and your personal details on the other side. Thanks to there lovely surface finish they feel grand in your hand too.

By the way, you can also play around with the mini cards or get some normal-sized biz cards with a special touch ... I've got to go now 'cos moo has a special holiday offer...

How on earth have I been able to survive without this heavenly scent? It was only in March 2008 that I discovered "Ellenisia" in the kingdom of Penhaligon's. With its head notes of mandarin zest and violet leaf, heart notes of gardenia petals, rose, tuberose and jasmine, and base notes
plum nectar and vanilla this nymph-inspired scent created in 2004 it is highly addictive.

And there is she again. Lisa D - A designer form Graz, based in Berlin coming to Vienna from 4 to 10 May 2009. I just love her designs, patterns and fabrics. But come and see for yourself. She'll be selling her spring 09 collection at the boutique Gegenalltag in Museumsquartier.

In fact, it shouldn't read Brit pop but rather Brit guitar - a bit like the soundtrack of Once. So whoever's now not completely confused by this descriptionn might actually enjoy James Cottriall's autumn gig's in Vienna, Amsterdam and/or the U.K....
